AT DAILY PLANET OFFICE, MR. KENT'S DESK
Lois: Clark, you are a part of the world's finest news service corporation and it expects its worker to be at their best at all times. Stop staring at the window. Perry needs us to go to Alaska this Thursday.
Clark: Alaska…?
Lois: After what your alien friends did to this planet, it seems like Earth's core has emitted huge waves of gamma radiation and affected the nuclear structure of the rocks...
Clark: How do you know all this?
Lois: Were you sleeping all week? (jollied) How will you save the world like this, Mr. Superman?
Clark: Don't call me that.
Lois: hahah. Lexcorp. has released these images online last night explaining all about their expedition to the core! Now, go home and have some sleep. your gonna need it, its long journey. Do not worry about taking a bus, Jimmy will pick you up at your apartment.
Clark: (……mystified by Lois's charisma.) What are we of use over there?
Lois: ahh! The Corpororation has invested about $84 billion in a "research assignment". LexCorp isn't such a company to drop that kind of money on just research. They are upto something..
Clarke: What do you think they are doing?
Lois: I have not a single clue. We are about to find out.
Perry listening to the conversation as he walk by, steps forward.
Perry: Clarke, you've got to keep Ms. Lane in control. She has charasmatic love against Lexcorp.
All laugh.
AT ALASKA
Its freezing and snowing, we see a huge machine digging through solid ice ground. Lois walks towards the machine from her helicopter with Clark and Jimmy. They are all surprised by the work being done. A shadowy figure is seen walking down the staircase from a building covered with snow. Appears as if the figure is followed by some other men. They walk closer, Clark sees them approaching and notifies Lois. A charming bald headed man comes and greets them all in the building.
IN THE BUILDING
Lois: Mr. Luthor, what exactly are you doing here?
Luthor: All your questions will be answered Ms. Lane; isn't that why I invited you here. But first, why don't you all go and freshen up. Ms. Graves will escort you to your rooms. I will meet you at the dinner.
Lois: But, Mr. Luthor....
Luthor gently places his palm on Lois's lips to shut her, and signals his assistant Ms. Graves
Luthor: We will talk -later.
Lois shows dissatisfaction and leaves with Clarke and Jimmy
following Ms. graves, Lois and clark have chitchat.
Clark: why are you so hot headed about this project.
Lois: I dont trust this guy.
Clark: who? Mr. Luthor? he seems pretty nice to me.
Lois: Clark, you are so naive.
Clark surprised by that remark looks at Jimmy. Jimmy looks at clark then turns t? Lois who was walking to her room, looks back at clark. unsure about the situation and nods at clark.
they both enter their room. Scene ends.
AT THE DINNER TABLE
Luthor: We all know the Kryptonions' efforts terraform this planet 2 months ago. What they did was they sent two waves of gamma radiation towards each other to change the nuclear structure of our planet from the core to that of Krypton's. Though they were unable to finish the process, however there was some transformation.
Clark: What do you mean?
Luthor: Means that our core now consists partially of Kryptonian rock.
Lois: (asserting) And you will dig them out and sell it for a fortune.
Luthor: No, Lois. I don't have the equipment to drill out rocks from earth's core. Even if I can, they aren't mine, they belong to United Nations. I can barely drill out couple of ounces of "Kryptonian rock". Lois, you just have to point you finger at me for everything, don't you? Its purely for research, like I have told the Planet before.
Clarke stops Lois from saying anything.
Clarke: Why have you called us?
Luthor reads the visitor badge around Clark's neck
Luthor: hmmm. Mr Kent..is it? I have never seen you on TV or press conferences before.
Lois: (not entertained) He is new and my assistant.
Clark doesn't liked being called his girlfriend's assitant
Luthor: ahh.. You've got a pretty boss there. (leans closer to Clarke) Don't try to get in her pants, it never ends well for us. (Luthor winks)
Clark perplexed
Clark repeats the question
Luthor: We've sent some probes down the drill last week. It didn't quite reach the core, they are not supposed to. they got below the mantle and read zero harmful radioactivity.
Lois: Zero? Why is that special?
Luthor's assistant brings a monitor to the table and luthor finishes chewing before he starts speaking.
We have never seen these rocks before, they don't exist on the current periodic table. We had to check if these were radioactively lethal to us. Turns out they aren't really lethal unless you try to consume it or keep it with you for 200 years. time will kill you before the rock will ever harm you.
Lois: Again. So what?
Luthor: Ms. Lane, patience. This rock isn't decaying. It's not radioactive. It is isn't a complete mass. this rock also stores energy and it is dissipating continuously. Infact it is turning the nearby rocks around it into itself. Its creating nuclear fission in our core. Iron is its easiest prey. Since our core almost all Iron, it will affect our planet, just like it did to krypton.
Jimmy: Oh. god, are we going to die?
Luthor: Yes. we all are. but not today. But I can tell you that none of us will die from the fissioning, its a slow process and will take atleast a billion years for the krypton rock to kill earth and make it into krypton. Even then, the atmosphere will be highly unaffected by this transformation. You will be living in a planet with a much smaller volume and greater gravitational forces.
Clark: what do we do now?
Luthor: What I and my team will do here is try to extract the kryptonian rocks and keep it from affecting earth and learn from it how kryptonians are different from us and how to keep them away from killing all of us humans again.
